Curtain Pole is simply another term for curtain rod. A curtain pole refers to the cylindrical rod typically supported by a bracket on either end used to hold curtains or window treatments. Curtains Poles are enhanced with either a finial or an end cap on either end of the pole.

Curtain Poles are usually made of either solid hardwood or metal. Additional Center brackets may be required based upon manufacturer's recommendations.

Wooden curtain poles are available in a variety of diameters. The most common sizes are 1-3/8", 2", 2-1/4" and 3" diameters. Custom curtainpoles are available cut to the inch. We sell curtain rods in maximum lengths of 100 inches long. In applications that require longer poles, poles are shipped in two equal pieces with a metal screw splice in the center. This is to enable standard ground shipment and makes installation much easier.

Metal curtain poles are available in a much greater range of styles, shapes and sizes.

Round Tube metal poles are by far the most common curtain rods. The most common tube diameters are 1/2", 3/4", 1", 1-1/4", 1-1/2", 1-3/4", 2" or 3." Metal poles are usually made from iron, steel, aluminum or brass. Tubes are typically more popular as they much stronger than solid metal. Hollow tubes are typically shipped in maximum lengths of 100 inches. In applications that require longer poles, poles are shipped in two equal pieces with an interior tension splice in the center. This is to enable standard ground shipment and makes installation much easier.

Solid metal rods are usually round and available in diameters smaller than 1inch diameters. Solid metal rods are usually available in maximum lengths of 96 inches.

Twisted metal rods are made by heating and twisting solid metal poles-Decorative only.
Braided metal rods are made by twisting strands of metal wire and cable-Decorative only.
